Senior Data Engineer- Databricks and Data Products

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Databricks and Data Product development to join our client’s team onsite in Stockholm. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical skills with a product-oriented mindset and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, and cloud platforms.
2. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products.
3. Implement and maintain data architecture, modeling, and engineering best practices.
4. Ensure data quality, governance, and performance standards across pipelines.
5. Support the full data product lifecycle—from ideation and prototyping to deployment and maintenance.
6. Contribute to defining data engineering standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience:

1. 8+ years of experience in data engineering roles.
2. Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, and at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
3. Experience in building and maintaining data products in an enterprise environment.
4. Proficient in Python/Scala, SQL, and cloud-native data tools.
5. Deep understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and pipeline performance optimization.
6. Comfortable working in agile, cross-functional teams.
7. Fluent in Swedish and English (both written and spoken).

Nice to Have:

1. Familiarity with data mesh, data fabric, or domain-oriented data architecture.
2. Experience in CI/CD for data pipelines.
3. Knowledge of Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, or related Databricks features.
